# Source

Define and manage the origins of quality events.

## Overview

The **Source** module allows you to define and manage sources, which represent the origin or point of detection of quality events.

## How Settings Are Applied

Sources defined in this module appear in the **Source** dropdown of the [**New Quality Event**](/interfacing-help-files/quality-managers/quality-event-application/creating-and-managing-quality-events/create-new-quality-event.md) form.

## Defining & Managing Sources

Follow these steps to create, edit, and maintain sources:

### Defining Sources

Click **Add** to create a new source. A new row will appear in the grid.

* **Active:** Select to make the option visible in the **Source** dropdown. Leave unselected to hide it.
* **Source:** Enter a descriptive name or title for the source.

If needed, provide translations in the supported languages:

* **English (default)**
* **French**
* **Arabic**
* **German**

### Managing Sources

Once a source is defined, the following actions are available:

* **Edit:** Click directly in a grid cell to modify its contents.
* **Delete** ( <i class="fa-trash-can">:trash-can:</i> ): Click to remove a source.

Confirm deletion by clicking **Save Changes** or clicking outside the grid. To cancel, click **Discard Changes** or **Undo** ( <i class="fa-arrow-rotate-left">:arrow-rotate-left:</i> ).

* **Discard Changes:** Click to revert any unsaved modifications.
