Markdown versions of documentation pages are available by appending `.md` to page URLs; this page is available as [Markdown](https://interfacing.gitbook.io/interfacing-help-files/business-continuity/managing-business-impact-analyses-apps.md). # Managing Business Impact Analyses (Apps) Use the Business Continuity application to create and manage Business Impact Analyses. ## Overview The **Business Continuity** (**BC**) application supports the creation and management of Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) through the **BIA Management** workflow. {% hint style="info" %} #### Understanding BIAs A **Business Impact Analysis** (**BIA**) evaluates the criticality of business activities and their associated resource needs to help ensure operational resilience and continuity during and after a disruption. The BIA assesses the potential impact of disruptions on service delivery, identifies associated risks, and defines key recovery metrics, including **Recovery Time Objectives** (**RTOs**) and **Recovery Point Objectives** (**RPOs**). These metrics support the development of business continuity strategies, solutions, and plans. {% endhint %} All BIAs are created, assigned, and tracked in a centralized system, ensuring visibility, accountability, and compliance with organizational standards. *** ## Application Prerequisites Before users can work with BIAs, administrators must configure the following settings:

BC Settings

**EPC Settings** Synchronize processes from EPC for use in BIAs. **Disaster Types** Define the types of disasters that can impact business operations.

Select the **Apps** tile in the side navigation bar. 2. On the **Apps** page, either: * Expand **Business Continuity** in the navigation tree, or * Navigate to the **Business Continuity** section in the application gallery.

Business Impact Analysis	Use this category to create and manage BIAs.
Business Management Plans	Use this category to create and manage operational plans.
Execute Plans	Use this category to execute operational plans during actual disruption events.
Simulate Plans	Use this category to simulate and validate operational plans.
Action Item Management	Use this category to create, execute, and manage action items.
Settings	Use this category to configure settings for the BC application.

New Business Impact Analysis	Use this module to initiate a new BIA for completion and review.
List of All BIAs	Use this module to view submitted BIAs, tracking their progress through the workflow.
List of All BIAs (Admin)	Use this module to administer all BIAs, including those requiring administrative review, reassignment, or maintenance.
