## Managing Department Trainings

{% step %}

### Viewing Trainings

Review trainings assigned to your department and monitor trainee status.

Click **Edit** ( <i class="fa-pen">:pen:</i> ) next to a training to review trainee progress and related details.

The **Manage Training** form allows you to view:

* The number of trainees in your department assigned to the training.
* The training status of each trainee (**Complete** or **Not Applicable**).

***

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Managing Training Applicability

Update whether a training applies to a specific trainee.

Click **Edit** ( <i class="fa-pen">:pen:</i> ) next to a trainee to open the **Manage Applicability** form.

This form, largely mirroring the **Execute Training** form, presents most fields in **read-only mode**, but allows managers to update the trainee’s training status:

* **Complete:** Select to mark the training as complete.
* **Is Not Applicable:** Select to mark the training as not applicable.

{% hint style="warning" %}
If a training is marked **Not Applicable**, the status remains in effect indefinitely. Even if the trainee is reassigned to the training later, they will not receive it.
{% endhint %}

* **Comment:** Add notes or observations regarding the training.

Click **Save and Return** to apply changes and return to the **Manage Training** form.

{% hint style="info" %}
Trainings marked as either **Complete** or **Not Applicable** will be removed from the trainee’s active task list.
{% endhint %}

{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://interfacing.gitbook.io/interfacing-help-files/learning-and-development/managing-trainings-apps/tracking-and-monitoring-trainings/my-departments-trainings.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
