# Analyzing Projects

Explore your project using multiple views, apply filters, and review metrics to understand process behavior and performance.

After you create a project in the **Process Mining** application, the **Project View** opens—your main workspace for exploring and analyzing process data. The **Project View** combines visualizations, performance metrics, and simulation tools to help you identify patterns, detect inefficiencies, and evaluate potential changes.

## Project View Components

The **Project View** includes several tools, each providing a distinct way to examine your business process:

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Process Map

A visual representation of your workflow, automatically generated from your event log. It:

* Displays the sequence and frequency of activities across all cases
* Updates automatically based on applied filters.

***

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Analytics Panel

A dedicated panel for reviewing key performance metrics and case-level insights derived from your event log. It:

* Provides insights into case volume, durations, and activity behavior.
* Updates automatically based on applied filters.

***

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### View Modes

A set of modes for viewing your process data from different perspectives:

* **Discovery Map** (default)
* **BPMN**
* **Data Table**
* **Animation**

***

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Process Simulation

A tool for testing proposed changes to your process before implementation. It lets you:

* Model changes to activity timing, routing, or volume
* Evaluate how those changes affect performance across different scenarios
* Compare simulations with the current (As-Is) process or other scenarios

***

{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://interfacing.gitbook.io/interfacing-help-files/process-analysts/process-analysis-and-simulation/process-mining/analyzing-projects.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
