# Navigating the Library

Learn how to move through the Library using the navigation tree, breadcrumb trail, and List View.

Use the **Library** module to browse, locate, and manage documentation. It provides multiple ways to explore content, stay oriented, and interact with objects—all within a unified workspace.

## Exploring Documentation

Use the following components to navigate the **Library** and access documentation efficiently.

### Using the Navigation Tree

The **Library Tree**, located on the left side of the screen, displays a hierarchical list of categories, folders, and objects.

  * You can also select a **parent item** to reveal its immediate children.
* To view an item's contents in the **List View**, select it from the tree.

The **Library Tree** is resizable and supports two display modes.

* To adjust its width, hover over the panel edge and drag.

### Using the Breadcrumb Trail

At the top of the workspace, the **breadcrumb trail** shows your current location in the **Library** hierarchy.

* Select any item in the trail to go to that level.
* If the path is long, a **three-dot** (<i class="fa-ellipsis">:ellipsis:</i>) icon appears. Select it to view hidden levels.

### Using the List View

The main workspace displays items in a dynamic **List View** for easy browsing and interaction.

* Double-click an item to drill down into its contents.
  * If the item has children, the view updates to show them.
  * If not, the [**Details Panel**](/interfacing-help-files/drafts/searching-for-objects-in-the-library/viewing-object-details.md) opens to display the item's information.
